CCDS

Store, handle and transfer drill cuttings and associated wastes at onshore and offshore locations

The CCDS system is well established in international markets, successfully meeting legislation requirements while ensuring the safe, effective and efficient transfer of drilling wastes directly from the shakers in any of the following applications:

  • Skip & ship: transfer to a central processing facility from either onshore or offshore drilling operations
  • Bulk handling:  transfer from onshore or offshore sites to a central processing facility in bulk
  • Onsite cuttings treatment: thermal or mechanical treatment

The process
The Cuttings Transfer (CT) pump or screw conveyor is used to transfer the cuttings from the shakers either to skips or processing systems on a drilling rig, or to Cuttings Storage Transfer (CST) bulk tanks on a vessel. The CST unit provides both buffer storage on a drilling rig and bulk transport of cuttings on a supply vessel.

The CST and CT units use the same positive displacement pump, which is capable of moving cuttings at rates of more than 50 tonnes per hour over distances of up to 300 feet.  This pumping capacity allows the system to easily keep pace with large volumes of cuttings being generated, even in larger hole sections.

Skip and Ship operations
TWMA offers drilling waste skip and ship packages to suit project requirements. Drilling wastes are transferred via the TWMA modular bin filling station into TWMA drill cuttings bins either by screw conveyors, CT pump, CST unit or Vacuum Systems. Drill cuttings bins are then transferred from drilling rigs to a central processing facility.

Bulk transfer operations
If drilling wastes are transported in bulk to shore or to another offshore installation, the CST units are located on a supply vessel to transfer the drilling wastes.  Each unit has a total capacity of 70 metric tonnes and at the discharge location the CST units will simply pump the cuttings to storage or transfer systems quickly and efficiently thanks to its self contained pump.

Onsite thermal cuttings treatment
Integrating our TCC RotoMill or TCC RotoTruck technology with the CCDS gives clients a complete environmentally sensitive solution capable of storing, processing and recycling wastes.

Key features of CCDS

The main benefits of the system are as follows:

  • Zero discharge offshore to protect the marine environment
  • Improves health and safety performance
  • Can be integrated with the TCC RotoMill or TCC RotoTruck to process and recycling wastes
  • Simple and quick installation with minimal rig modifications
  • High pumping capacity to handle fast drilling
  • Reduces crane movements, which reduces risks associated with offshore crane operations, costly weather delays and safety of personnel
  • TWMA operating engineers onsite at remote offshore and onshore locations
  • Reliable system with maximum operating time
  • Flexibility to configure the system to fit exact project requirements and rig space
  • Unique reporting system detailing volumes and waste types
